From time to time, we at the Southeast Asia Reformed Network want to share with you some of the Reformed initiatives that are happening throughout Asia. In today’s post, we highlight God’s Sovereignty in Vietnam. What follows is written by a contributor of God’s Sovereignty in Vietnam.

gods_sovereignty_in_vietnam_squareGod’s Sovereignty in Vietnam is a site where Vietnamese Christians can enjoy God’s supremacy. It contains a mixture of information in Vietnamese and in English, even though it’s geared mostly for Vietnamese Christians in Vietnam.

Evangelism and disciple making are important to us because God is important. Ultimately, God is the one who brings about a harvest and then gives it maturity. Therefore, we embrace Reformed theology because it is about believing and enjoying all that God is through Jesus. The triune God of the Bible is holy and sovereign.

Simply put, our hope is Jesus. He is our good news because he brings to earth good news about the Father. Without Jesus on earth dying on the cross and rising again, we would not know the Father. God is who we need. The good news of the gospel is this – through Jesus, God does for us what we cannot do for ourselves. Otherwise the gospel would not be good news but just another set of things we must do – empty religion. We would not need God to accomplish it. But we need him to do what we as sinners are unable to accomplish – namely, fix ourselves.

“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” – Ezekiel 36:25–26

At GSiV we hope to be a resource for nurturing God-centered Christians and churches in Vietnam and serve as a hub for connecting reformed work related to the Vietnamese people.

    Hi~

I am from the Philippines but I’m working in Vietnam now. As of now, I don’t have any plan on when to leave and I got my mother and my two sisters with me. I would like to know if you know a fellowship of reformed Christians in Hanoi. We’ve been to HIF and HIC but I’ve always been searching if there’s any Reformed fellowship. I understand that in a country like this, we can’t be picky but if there is one, we would very much want to attend and be involved. We also want to participate in missions but we don’t know where to start.

Please advise us on this. Thank you very much.
